Most Filtration Is Passive. SecureAire Is Not.
Here is the problem with conventional air filtration: the vast majority of harmful airborne particles are too small and too lightweight to be carried into your HVAC system’s filter by normal airflow. Mold spores, bacteria, viruses, pollen, smoke particles, and volatile organic compounds simply remain suspended in the air of your living spaces, passing through your system and back into the rooms where your family breathes. SecureAire’s ACTIVE Particle Control technology addresses this fundamental limitation by actively transporting those particles to the filter rather than waiting for them to arrive on their own. It is a different approach entirely, and the results reflect that difference.
How ACTIVE Particle Control Works
SecureAire’s technology works in two stages. First, an energy field created by the system charges airborne particles throughout the home, making them behave more like particles large enough to be captured in the airstream. This transport mechanism is what distinguishes SecureAire from passive filtration. Second, once particles reach the air purification cartridge, the energy field surrounding it creates oxidative stress at the cellular level of captured pathogens, destroying bacteria and viruses rather than simply trapping them. Chemical compounds and VOCs that hitch a ride on captured particles are similarly broken down into harmless elements and held in the cartridge by ionic bonds so they cannot be released back into the airstream.
Proven in Demanding Environments
SecureAire’s ACTIVE Particle Control technology was not developed for residential use first. It was proven in hospitals and LEED-certified commercial buildings where air quality standards are rigorous and passive filtration strategies were not sufficient. The residential system brings that same performance level into the home environment, integrated directly into your existing central heating and cooling system so every room in the house benefits from whole-home treatment rather than the limited coverage area of a portable unit.
Low Maintenance, Long Filter Life
Unlike standard filters that need to be replaced every one to three months, SecureAire’s air purification cartridge is designed to hold six to twelve months of contaminants before replacement is needed. Each cartridge contains trillions of tiny fibers that function as 360-degree collectors, attracting and holding particles layer by layer without significantly restricting airflow through the system. When replacement is needed, your A.W.E. technician can take a measurement to determine the right interval for your specific home and usage conditions. Beyond cartridge replacement, the system requires minimal ongoing attention.
A Whole Home Solution for Every Room
Portable air purifiers treat one room at a time and only while they are running in that space. A SecureAire system installed in your central HVAC system treats all of the air moving through every room in your home continuously, every time your heating or cooling runs. For households with allergy sufferers, asthma, young children, or anyone with a health condition affected by air quality, that comprehensive coverage makes a meaningful difference compared to point-of-use solutions.
